Well, i've been working for long time this map Finally, I have this beta version working =) ========= This is a tactical game, which requires both teamwork and personal strategy combination. The main idea relies in a simulation of the warfare between villages in the era of Genghis Khan. Most mechanisms of the game were designed in the way that is as real as possible, such as - You don't train units from a building. Instead, you need families in order to get childrens. - Childrens grow up over time, by then you can choose what specialization you want him to be. - There's lots of specialization, each of them has its own roles, along with its requires properties. - In order to have a strong village, you want to have the adecuate amount of each kind of person. - The main resources is wood. You can get wood by planting trees. The more trees you plant, the more wood you get. - You also get some minor gold over time, or you can pillage gold by destroying enemy buildings. - You can research your weapons, so that your army become stronger. - Sentry Towers are extremely hard to destroy with traditional troops, so you will need to build catapult. - Catapult can't attack itself, but needs militia to manage it. - Sentry Towers need Longbow Archers to get inside, so it can attack. The tower itself doesn't attack!! - The ultimate building you can build is castle. Usually you might be able to finish the game before anyone have enough resources to build up a castle, which is extremely expensive both in gold and wood. But, eventually some games, when some players are touch, you might be able to set up a castle. - You never train any units directly from any building - Any kind of living-unit comes from natality, which are sons/daugther of the married couples. - The max population is reached at 100. But eventually, under some circumstances, you might be able to have some more than 100 units (Overpopulation). - In order to get more a higher population availability you need to grow pigs. Each pig provides 6 food for your population. - You can get pigs by building farms, each farm provides a pig over time. - Once your max population is at 100 (you have more than 16 pigs), you stop getting pigs at all. - Families give a born rate of kids over time, which keep in mind that each formed family (tent) do consume 6 of your total population. - There's basically type of armies: Militia, Archer, Footman, Warrior, Longbow Archer, Knights and Captains. - Each type of units has its own strenghtness and weaknesses. And some counter others. Example: Warriors counter Archers. - Much more features.... Any comments/ideas/suggestions is appreciated =) |

Game is nice, but WAY too confusing and massive... Nice try, but when it comes to massive battles, I think it's better to not have the players control all of the units... Like the idea 4 out of 5 orcs for idea :D :D :D :D :nono: 2 out of 5 for gameplay.. :D :D :nono: :nono: :nono: |

Why not go with the Total War series approach and have players command groups of units instead of specific units. It works great, and makes the game less complicated. Great idea. I'd love to play it. But I would have to say you won't get much luck on B.NET with it. It requires to much thought and strategy for the average player (you have to remember that these are the people who claim to be 'ThE L33tEsT' because they managed to build a few towers that managed to block some units that don't even use AI). Great idea, and sounds like great gameplay, but like most of the greats it won't be popular. |
