I have heard of people alphaeing out things and stuff, but my question is how do u remove weapons from a model, does this require MDL editing or a completely new model + anims based of the original? any help would be really cool:D |

some models you can just alpha out the weapon on its .blp others you have to edit its .mdl file to change the material it uses to transparent so you can then alpha it out(unfortunately you can lose team color that way sometimes). |

You won't lose team color if you make another material and set it to transparent, then point the mesh you want transparent to that material. |

or in some cases like for arthas or most of the other heroes you can just remove the geoset from the mdl file.... greetings mephisto |

It doesnt seem too difficult. I cant edit geosets that well, but i can edit skins. I once edited out the weapon of the Death Knight successfully without really ruining the team color. I think the trick is to make a mask of the original skin outside the alpha channel and saving outside the channel. I havent really performed this technique multiple times so i'm not sure, but i think this method works. |
