Moved to the "skinning" forum. 3dsmax has NOTHING to do with skinning. A lot of ppl seemed to be confused about that. If you have an edited .blp file, use the Import manager in TFT when you have a map open. Import it, right click it to modify it's properties, then enter the custom path that it needs.
