i used image extractor to extract the cryptlord icon. Then i saved as tga. Then i loaded in psp 8 and made him gold coloured. Then saved as .tga I imported him into my map uning tft importer. I changed his custom path to one i made up ReplaceableTextures\CommandButtons\BTNgoldlord.blp then in the object editor i changed his icon to the imported one. Apon loading i found that it either crashed the game or loaded up as a green box. I know im a noob so please lend this noob a helping hand.:D |

Make sure you re-open the icon in Image Extractor and save it as a .blp instead of a .tga. THEN import it into your map. Also, the icon will appear to be blank until you re-open the WE. Hope that helps :ggani: |

Lol, you can't import a .tga into your map and just change the file extension in it's path to a .blp. :bgrun: |

Make sure the size of the .tga is 32 kB (i think that's right) instead of 12 or 24. Those two don't seem to work. |

No 24 bit works with Image Extractor II. When you save you .tga in a paint program, go to the save options in the box that pops up and TURN EVERY COMPRESSION thingy OFF! :D |

ok, ive found out that when i save it as compressed, then save over it uncompressed it loads. Only catch is that its colours are all WRONG! i had it an orangy yellow, and it turned out blue and dark and upside down! help cheers swolen toe btw it seems that the image extractor inverts my pictures colour and position. is there something wrong with my image or immage extractor 2? mabe a new version? and do i need "alpha chennels" whatever they do and how to use them with a image not a skin. |

I'm pretty sure everything in .blp format in Warcraft needs an alpha channel to work... there should be a thread in here somewhere about adding alpha channels if you don't have one. |

.tga's saved from psp8 cannot be converted in image extractor, try wc3 viewer instead. and since it's an icon, you can probably convert from .jpg ok. |

You can't load it from a .jpg... .jpg's (to my knowledge) have no alpha channels, which are needed for any .blp files in warcraft to work. |

btw wheres wc3 viewer? and with alpha chanels dont you just go: select all, load/save: save to alpha channel? and is a picture supposed to be in the preview? |
