Getting Rid of Storm Panda's Bottles

I'm making my first skin based on the storm pandaren skin and on this other skin before I could easily remove things by just getting the box there and hitting ctrl+x. I did this with the book on the Arthas skin and it seemed to work just fine... but now with this Storm Pandaren when I do that, the bottles remain and are just all white skinned. I don't know if maybe there's a difference between the Arthas skin and the Pandaren one in that you cannot just eliminate things such as these bottles. This is my first real skin that I'm making so I don't have much experience with photoshop 7 yet. If anyone knows how to help me please respond... any bit of advice would be appreciated.

To remove that part, you have to make that area black in the alpha channel. (Alpha 1).

For photoshop:
Select the Channels tab in the bottom right area (next to layers). Click on Alpha 1. Now draw black in where the bottle is.

Ok, I see the channels tab and I did get something like this from another tutorial I read but I can't figure out where the Alpha 1 is that I must click on. Is it in that same tab or is it somewhere else or what because all I see here is...
RGB Ctrl+~
Red Ctrl+1
Green Ctrl+2
Blue Ctrl+3
And some little eye-looking symbols at the left. I see nothing resembling Alpha at all... Forgive me if I sound stupid I'm just telling you what I see...

Maybe it doesn't have an alpha channel because it isnt a .TGA. Make sure you convert the .BLP to a .TGA so you get the alpha channel.

It's .tga .....

Try re-extracting the .BLP as a .TGA and open it in photoshop or whatever program you use.

I don't know... I still can't find anything saying Alpha at all I don't know what else to do except ask someone else to do it for me or something since I don't understand what I'm supposed to do...

You need to go into the mdl and change the materials. That particualr model isn't set for transparency. I could prolly do this for you since you caught me in a good mood, but it'll take me a few hrs(normally would take a few seconds) as I'm about to go out to the pub for drinks and drinks, and possibly ladies...
anyway, do you want me to remove the hero glow too? or do you like it? I hate it personally.
Same question for teamcolor.

Yeah thanks man, and yes if you could remove hero glow and team color as well that would be great and just remove anything that resembles a panda cuz this is gonna be a black mage kind of skin. I need to get rid of the ears cuz they stick out of his hat too in the portrait and the bottles and I think that would be good.

Can you tell me your email so I can send you the file... btw which one would you prefer the .blp or the .tga?

Here's all the files you need. You don't need to send me anything. Read the readme I included it should explain everything.

I removed the bottles and his ears... err, not removed, alphaed out. and I got rid of hero glow and team color.

Ok one more thing though. You said in the readme that I could just copy and paste onto it... But how could I do that without overwriting the things you edited out because when I copied and pasted it over it just overwrote the deleted bottles and things and brought them back. Is there a way that I could just copy what I want to and leave the other parts out or should I just start over on the new one using the old one as a guideline?

If you just copy over it it will put the bottles back into the tga/blp, yeah, but that doesn't write over the alpha channel, so on the model they'll still be gone, even though tou can see them while working on the skin. This is how it works in PSP anyway, I dunno about PS, try it and let me know.
