Zepir and everyone,

I think the installer program is phenomenal, and I can't wait to see RoK.

Here's my dilemma:

I have a short campaign about 95% ready to go, and I would LOVE to use your installer. I have art for the background, icon possibilities, and some great maps.

My problem is that I know nothing - and I mean NOTHING - about MPQs and packing files and that kind of stuff. The readme file was good, but I still feel totally lost.

I know I'm asking a lot, but is there a way anyone could tell me step-by-step (including specific programs and things I'd need) how to get my maps, images, etc. ready for others to download?

There is no custom speech, music, or graphics in-game. It's pretty much all from the actual game, so I don't need to add all kinds of extras to the download file.

I'm a total moron about this stuff, but I think having this installer with my campaign could be really cool. If someone could help me figure this out, I would be forever in your debt and I'd put you in my will.

Thanks!

i AGREE. I would really like such a tutorial to be available.
Aside from that i would also like to know how to add maps into the CAMPAIGNS part of the game.

also, what would be cool is if there was a way to just make the game use a different warpatch.mpq then the one they provide. because i would just like to change shit there and yet i don't want to deal with having top back up the old etc.. If there is a way to do this plz let me know.

For MPQ editing, get WinMPQ. If you dealed with WinZIP or WinRAR, then it's not hard to use. Just drag'n drop files.
I4ll think about a tutorial but I don't have time to make one right now and I would enjoy somebody else do it.

About another MPQ than war3patch.mpq: we don't have any other choices since Blizzard loads only 2 main MPQ war3.mpq and war3patch.mpq. If there was another sollution, we would have use it.

Can't you use the -loadfile option to load any MPQ you want?

Hmm seems that I am the only one with the problem, but the Custom Campaign Installer, after I open it I get an error message, if any one can help that would be great...

Thanks in advance.

Edit, wait Nevermind I forgot to extract.

Anyway, the campaign installer you got seems to not be working correctly if you have big campaign maps.

I did a new version that fix all the problems we encountered when installing Rise Of Krill. (people using the "allow local files" registery trick where not able to run the campaign correctly, big maps were not loaded,...)
Now it checks better if the user specified the correct War3 directory and it is also able to create a shortcut icon on the desktop.

I'll make it public as soon as I am satisfied with it. It still needs to be tested.
