I just finished my zelot model and I was wondering how I can add a glowing blue particle emmiter to each arm for the psi blades. I want them to glow and leave a trail when they move. Also I need a little help on animating him. Should I attach all his body parts together or leave them all seperate? Also, how do I skin him. Yes I read the tuts and you know what, I am not skinning a box so help me out! Ill post pics when I get him skinned. Thanks for the help.

For the glow of the particle sprays (Which would work best I think) you'll need videopost to make them glow. To animate him it would be easiest to attach all parts, and then rig him with bones. And then the skinning (UWNwhatever Unwrapping) I can't really help you with that. Just find the right modifier and test your way through.

Now, to make the particle spays to look good, you should make one without any variation which goes EXTREMELY slow and is hellofa tight. Like, clump all the small dotties together. That would be the best effect I guess, unless you want to make a glowing cube (Which also would work, but particle spray would look better)

Okay, instead of checking a dictionary for hours just tell me what parts you didn't catch, and I'll try to say it in a more 'tutorial' like fashion ;)

Video Post Glow is a plugin for 3ds which in most cases need to be bought, but can be fetched using some....methods that shouldn't be mentioned here.

Particle Spray:

Open/reset/whatever 3ds

In the tabpanel, press Particles, then Particle Spray
Then place it and rotate it to fit your zealot. Press the Play Animation button, and you'll see why it's called Spray.

Now, In the modify panel you'll have some options:

Viewport Count: Decides how close together the falling thingys are (Also known as "dotties")
Render Count: Same thing as above, but only while rendering.
Drop size: Pretty obvious. Decides how long and fat the dotties will be when rendering.
Speed: Also pretty obvious, but dosn't only affect the falling speed. The faster the taller drops.
Variation: Far the most coolest modifier, but we won't need it here. Here we want the value 0, but you can always check what happens when you enter the value 100.

And then we jump past the rendermodifiers and go directly to Timing.

Start: Tells the spray what frame it should start spraying
Life: Tells at what frame the "drops reach the floor and disappears"
Birth Rate: This is another cool modifier which is only actiavated when you turn off "Constant". It tells how many frames there should be between creating a new dottie. I'd prefer this over Constant.

Heres some nice values which might be best for a zealotish type of ray. Of course you should modify to fit your Zeallie if needed:

EDIT: Just came to thought that I don't know if this will or will not work in WC3. Havn't done anything in Max for Wc3 in a while :////

I'm pretty sure he means P2P programs like Kazaa.
