The NEW firebat

A thanx to ydoh for providing the base model. I simply added both BTN and DISBTN icons, the soundset (just replace it over a prexisting one), weapon sound (THANK YOU SO MUCH BWOOD FOR THIS, I WAS GOING BONKERS TRYING TO FIGURE THAT OUT!!), editing the attack skins, and most importantly, the flame. Sadly, I don't have a website to host this on, so a screenshot will have to do. The marines are just there for kicks.

I would like to apologize for the double post. I thought I hit preview on the other one, but I guess not. Pleez feel free to delete the other thread and keep this one.

Also, I just realized this should be in the model gallery, so moderators should move this when they can.

You took the particle emitter of of the Fel Space Orc and added it to the firebat, then u gave it fire for its attack, great job, i wouldve done that to if Yobgul's gay *** file converter would work, **** patches,he really needs to make a new one for 1.12

1. Convert an MDX to MDL and open the MDL in Notepad or something. Scroll to the bottom. There should be a bunch of eventobjects that look something like this:

EventObject "SNDXDRIF" {
ObjectId 58,
EventTrack 1 {
14333,
}
}

The ones that begin with SNDX are the ones you are looking for. The numbers underneath are the animation frames that these start on. I've haven't checked alot, but most attack animations begin somewhere around 13200, so find the EventObject that start around there (it may not be exactly 13200, it may be something like 13422 etc). Now extract the files UI\SoundInfo\AnimLookups.slk and UI\SoundInfo\AnimSounds.slk from war3.mpq and open each in some spreadsheet program. AnimLookups has the references for the last four letters of the title of the eventobject, and AnimSounds has the actual .wav file names. Use each in tangent to figure out what you need. Then simply change the last four letters to letters you want the sound to be. Then make the MDL into an MDX again and import.

2. Certainly. Make sure you read the readme or some of the sounds and stuff won't work right.

UPDATE:
I was thinking that the original's team colors were kinda weird just being on the shoulder pads, so I copied the Alpha Channel from the marine and replaced it on the firebat's BLP. It looks OK, but I'm not sure it is quite what I'm looking for yet. You decide, if you hate the new one, just stick with the old one. If you have the old one, all you need to replace is the firebat skin, everything else is the same.
