skinning help

Hello everyone, I want to learn how to skin but well i have no clue what to do :( . anyway this is what i need to know;



1.Programs need and where to get them (including the program used for the actual skinning, i have heard some names but i know most of them cost money and im poor so are there any free ones?)

2.how to do everything including all the exporting, importing, switch to .tga or w/e it is and about the program that you actaully use to do the skin.

1. Photoshop (around 600 dollars US) or Paint Shop Pro (Not sure of the cost).
The only free one would be MSPaint, but that is probably the worst skinning tool you could use.

2. Read this
If you use TFTWE, instead of an MPQ program, use the Import Manager. It's the same concept, though.
