I read Rightfield's model editing tutorial and opened the demoness model with kmk's importer skript (using 3dsmax 5, skript settings: static, rotate bones = off)
i scaled a few polygons to 0 and exported it...
but the exported file was way smaller than the original one and when i opened them as .mdl i figured out that the editied model has only 62 verticels instead of 548...

does anyone know how to edit/save the model without loosing verticels?

The reason why the mdl you exported is smaller than the orignal is because it only contains the models geosets and verts, were as the original mdl contains all other info, like animation, bones, material, particles etc etc

all you have to do is copy over the geosets from the edited model to the original mdl then when your done save the mdl as a different name so u dont overwrite the original mdl
