I wanted to know how you edit (or watever) to make MOD like FPSmod or DMmod?

I have not tried any mods but can someone explain how they work :bgrun:

Magic.
Well... FPS mod is a combination of C++ coding (the control system) and triggering (firing and jumping and moving). I think. basically they figured out how to detect keystrokes, and how to use that to run triggers or something... don't ask me.
Only the guys from FPS mod team will know completely how to make/mod it. Until the release of course. Then someone'll figure out and all (unless FPSmod team spills the beans).

DMMod (I think that was what I played on the net... correct me if I'm wrong) uses either JASS or heavy triggering (as far as I know all the things can be done through triggering). No external program whatsoever. Selection is done through dialog buttons... cameras through camera controls, heroes are done through hero editing (simple as pie, unfortunately I can't make pie). DM is done through unit creation, and all that (to go through everything would be a hassle). Anyway Isn't DMmod not locked? Look through.

I see... so you gotta be a programmer...

I thought they take the War3.MPQ and change everything there...

You could do that to change default unit, skins etc. That would be a mod. But not in the same way as FPS mod.

Lots of mods are very advanced, Dark Crescent has lots of new models, and a program in itself. There are too many things that make a mod. It's just anything BUT warcraft 3, I guess you can say.
