The Dawn of Voice Acting

Hey Everybody!

John Drake from Realm Design here!

As some of you may know, Realm Design is currently looking for voice actors for our current project: The Dawn of Chaos, a remake of the original Warcraft: Orcs and Humans.

As it stands, the biggest thing we need are voice actors for units, since well, that's what people will hear the most of :D

Anywho, the units we need voices for are:

Humans:
Footman
Male Archer
Knight
Cleric
Conjurer

Orcs:
Peon
Grunt
Spearman
Raider
Necrolyte
Warlock


If you would like to try out for any of these parts, feel free to e-mail me a copy of a few samples, or a demo rell, or make a post on our forum - here. My e-mail is: [email protected]

Also, we have a lot of characters in cinematics that will need voices, so even if you aren't chosen for the unit you tried for, you might just be able to play one of them :gsmile:

Anyone who is chosen to play a part will become an honourary, or full-fledged member of the Realm Design Team, as well as get a full credit for their work in the credits.

I'll let you know when we have finalised or released versions of our unit responses for our WC1 Conversion over at the SA. The whole point of ours, after all, is to share resources and stuff.
That is, providing Wolverine doesn't tell us not to 'copy' your idea of WC1. ;)

Thanks for the offer, but... Well, The Dawn of Chaos will be featuring many cinematics, whether they be storyline or for the beginning of a mission addressing it to the player. In these cinematics there will be many times when standard units converse with the heroes or other story line characters, and well, we'll need voice actors that can provide samples as we go. The script Tarnis is working on won't apply to each mission beginning/end (unless it introduces a full-blown cinematic), those parts will be left up to me to create on the fly as I trigger the maps.
So, if the VA's would be willing to work with us, as we will with them, then we might have something.
As it is, I'm hoping to find someone for at least the Footman before we release the demo or I trigger any more maps. There will be custom warning sounds, said by the footman, that don't exist in WC3 but were in WC1.

I'll be doing my share of voices for it, as well, in case it seems like I'm just asking and not doing.

Young Varien Wrynn
King Llane
Possibly the Peasant
And a few others

I have Fury of Kadesh, Nature's Call, and a few more things all ready backed up..

Well, it all depends on who you wish to play. The only unit I need right away is the Footman. Right away meaning... within a few weeks, before the release of the demo.

1. do you want it to sound like the original footman?
2. what the hell did the original footman sound like?
3. If he doesn't need to..I can just make someone up I guess...

Well, either like the original or like the WC2 footman. If you would like to try one of your own as a sample, that would be great too :D

Anywho, I've attached some of the unit responses from WC2 for the footman.
