Ok I looked around and there was none around and I wanted to save people the trouble of asking this question. Well here is my Tutorial I hope you guys like it.

=================
Step 1
=================
Ok first I'm assumeing you know where to get a weapon or something but if not heres a link. Here

========
1. First open your map in World Editor and then go to import

2. Then select the Import file icon

3.After that a new window should open up. Select the Weapon or whatever you have.

4.Then right click on the imported file and select Modify File Properties

5.Then check the box and the path should turn ungray.

6.Ok now go to triggers and make a new trigger. First in Events make it map intililzation then for actions go down to special effects and select create special effect on unit

7.Now select what File and a new windo should pop up. Now notice the imported file you had is there. Check that circle and click ok

8.Now if it was a weapon which I used. type where you want that weapon to be on your unit. I typed "Right Hand" then select what unit you want it to be. and make sure your weapon is selected to.

9.Ok now click ok and this is what your trigger should look like. Congrats now save your map and look at that unit. Also try hand right

(Well just gotta say that I found out this doesnt work for MDX only MDL look in the wc3 dir for items and stuff this is what i came up with.)

Does anyone know of any turotials or a way to do this witd MDX? add it here.

This method is considered outdated, for those who have TFT at least. It is a known fact that attachments attached via the sfx trigger disappears under certain circumstances, for example, impale. The new and improved method is via the ability sphere, which is under Human>Units. I will explain this method in my next post.

I still think it is better to use an orb ability

Do steps from 1 to 6, then

make a new ability from the Orcish Battle Standart , then Change the effect to war3mapimported\nameofmodel.mdx

Change the target attachment point to hand, or head, it depends on the weapon model. To specify the hand, add a string with left or right

Give the new ability to the item
