EDIT: For latest pic, check the 3rd pic, near the bottom of this thread.

I have never gotten into terrain like this before, but I think it looks pretty good for an hour and half - 2 hours of work, playing with the terrain. Please give some feedback.

That riverbed looks great. The only flaws I can point out are that there is a stark line to the right of the river and doodads look kind of sparesly placed out in the forest. I'll bet the river was your main concern here, though. Excellent job with that!

Yeah it looks like I must have moved those vines after sinking them into the ground, disregard that.

I was about to say something about the cliffs and how they're from lordaeron summer but the grass is from felwood, but then I saw the new picture. Nice job. :D

[20:39] <DaemonKillar> yo
[20:39] <DaemonKillar> I like your river
[20:39] <DaemonKillar> really nice
[20:40] <DaemonKillar> But it's the surrounding areas that don't look too good

Could anyone tell me what he would mean about the surrounding areas? I wasn't around when he said that and he is no longer there, but what is wrong with surrounding areas? Please stay with me, I'm a total newbie to this, I just started terraining like this today. Well about 1.5-2 hours before the first screenshot was taken. I'm sure I could make it look better, but I have nothing to use as a reference.

Any feedback on how to make it better please.

You need smoothing!! And maybe some shrubs, viny plants, etc (unoless you want to keep the doddads number low)

It seems too wide open...needs to have more tree's

Fyre, the trees on the right side. Put shrubs around them or something. :D

Exactly my thoughts: The River is cool, the surrounding area needs some work.

They need to be smoothed.. that lower and raise terrain tool.. dont use the "massacre the terrain random" function.. lower and raise it manually.

It was lowered and raised manually, I guess I didn't smooth it enough, this screenshot already have 250+ doodads in it, it at that camera angle on 1152x768x32 it was lagging on my computer quite alot with the fog. I'll try to spice it up a little.

Nice Terrain, imo i would have taken away some of the corn doodads and maybe added a few more flowers, but thats what i think.

Keep up the good work.

Nah, not flowers, it is supposed to set a swampy mood.

You guys are right, the outter area sucks, I didn't spend anymore than 5 minutes placing the trees and setting up the terrain.
