Not sure if this should go in Skinning or here...

I'm trying to override the team color images so that certain team colors will all be totally black. I've made all-black .BLPs and imported them into my campaign with path (for example) "ReplaceableTextures\TeamColor\TeamColor12.blp" but it doesn't seem to be changing anything on my maps...

Is there a different file that I have to override? Or is there something else going on? Need help bad on this one...

Tried changing the path in Game Interface... no luck. I'm pretty sure I have the right path though.

Just not changing the colors...

I dunno... I've been through the MPQ pretty heavily and I haven't found anything else that might do it.

Could you perhaps post one of the maps you did this in, or give a link to it?

Well, you could strip out the terrain, triggers and object data pretty easily... You don't need those to make this work right?

Interesting issue. I tried and also failed substituting a black color for player #1. This means that in order to change the color you would need to change it into the actual MPQ and that would suck....... cuz then it wont work on bnet......

However I think I have a simple solution.....

You can change the color of the player and keep him as player # x

Unit - Change color of (Picked unit) to Black

this will retain the player ownership but make all his team color black..

If you only want certain parts of him to be black then that is another issue.

You will need to alter the actual BLP of the unit by removing some of the alpha channel stuff and changing it to black color.

To do this do a search on the forums as they will better explain it.

Good Luck!

Actually what I was interested in was changing the colors of the teams as they show up on the Minimap...

You're saying those blps can't be replaced with a map's imports?

lol actually THAT i got to work by just importing a black #15 and using the same path as the team00 which is team #1.

I got the team color to change on the minimap but not on the screen.

...So you're saying the imported blps *should* work to black out the colors on the minimap?

Mine certainly aren't coming out black... even the neutral hostile units are just really dark blue...
