If you really mean Warcraft 2, then you should get listfiles from my website and open the War2Dat.mpq file (if you have the BNE) in some MPQ Editor like WinMPQ or Ladiks MPQ Editor. You have to set the listfile properly. Then set the filter to WAV and extract the sounds you want. Some of the sounds (the music) is inside the INSTALL.EXE on the CD.
If you have the old version of Warcraft II, which doesn't use MPQ, then I can only tell you that you should search for some websites that have tools for it.

Maybe that can help. Check the tool in the attachment.

You want to "steal" icons? I created some War2 icons at some time (I "stole" them)...

War2 Icons are small, and poorly colored. I will "base" my icons from them...

Some are not good, but I resized them and in my opinion they are not that bad.
