Soo much talent not enough cooperation. I see People in RPG's who know their terrain, some who know their triggers, ect. These things can actually become FINISHED if multiple dedicated people are working on it. It has become aparent that too many long Open RPG's are there and those that are finished are well.... pathetic. Thats why i think all those who are dedicated or working on their OPEN RPG's should band together to create a superior RPG that will be more detailed in most areas due to the fact that some guy doesn't get burnt out half way through terrain and does lame if not any triggers. If anyone is intrested plz Email me at [email protected] |

I think thats a good idea but people that make them usealy dont make them just for you to critasized. You never hear people saying there are to many TDs |

Then you have the hearing of the 150 year old hermit who lived alone under a constantly used construction site for most of his life. :D |

i didn't mean to sound critical before sry for any misunderstanding. What i ment is i see all this different talent for open RPG's and people just want to have a fun experiance with the most features. Though a better product could be made with more people. Like i saw yoda_24 or someone said they are making 5 different world of warraft maps and eachwould use the save code feature so that you could go around worlds. I think he got help on that. I think all people who trying ot make very amibisious Open RPG's should do it in a group not on their own. Less they have too much time. I know i don't got enough time... |

There was one great open RPG, it was Ragnorak (or however you spell it) for ROC. It was all open except for the final boss when you could basicly fight at any time. All players had no ally vison and you could go anwhere on the map and do any number of tons of quest. You all start with the same hero but then it banched off into different classes and stuff. I think everyone needs to play that map alteast once. |

Ragnarok looked fun, but the alful music and the locked camera spoilt it for me. I wish someone would make a version that didn't lock the camera and removed the music. I know you could reset the camera, but whenever you selected your hero it re-locked it. |

i dout that will happen. All the OPEN Rpg's are just re-edits of the first crappy one. |

It would be nice to have somebody have a storyline driven rpg that people actually play, i prefer them to open. The biggest problem when most people start working on a map is they do change there ideas too much, if multiple people worked on a single map that would proboly not happen. By the way i think Ragnarok RPG eventually did have the camera taken away but was left with too many bugs. |

Well I think RPG's are forming into Campaigns. |

i played ragnorak and LOVED it i played it when it was still new. Then like a month or 2 ago when i still had internet on my comp *cries* i showed it to my friends..... it was too much for them to understand. Even though that open RPG was great it lacked the hot iron rails that guide people through the map for it to be fun. When you say RPG's are becoming campaigns you mean thats been happening forever right? because on the war3 engine i've seen two types of blizzard and user made games. Lots of little units, focus around the hero. Or things like TD or those cWaZy mauls. Something that has to be done is making an online campaigns. Yes it would have save code but the story would follow a series of maps. Only way people would actually finish the maps is by being on a team of course. I found though that its too easy for team members *attention* and my own easily drifted away from the subject. Which brings me to another question. Do any of those who mod war3 have enough patiant to complete anything.... Worthwhile? |

i never played ragnarok myself but i heard good things. btw ctrl-c unlocks the camera. on another note i agree with toxic. many maps are only stellar in one area, be it terrain or triggers or some1s custom spells. if one person specialized in each area and created a massive project it would be earth shattering. just a thought.:D |
