Weapons pack

Someone posted a piece here about a FX pack, so I thought this would be relevant. Has anyone considered getting a group of modelers together to construct a pack of creative arms, particularly weaponsry that isn't created too much (IE- Maces, pole weapons, shields, etc)? We could do stuff like swords and axes also, but I think it would be beneficial to the community as a whole to create or at least group a slew of weapons into one easy file so people could just download it and browse through untill they found a weapon they liked. It would be a great idea in my opinion. If anyone wanted to do this, just reply here, and I'll probably start a file collection that groups the weapons under a .zip file. So tell me what you think.

Well, I can model weapons no problem, but if you've been following the model tutorial post, you'll see I can't skin my own models because the program doesn't work for some reason. Therefore, if you, or anyone, were willing to at least map and maybe even skin the models I make, then I could pump out some nice weapon models.

I think they are just commonly known as double bladed/side swords. I can model that if you're willing to appropriately scale it and at least UV map it.

well i am only learning to make objects but if you model it i will figure out how to do those. i should be able to uv map it but scaling may cause a little trouble. don't worry tho i learn fast. and by the way they aren't exactly swords because they have like a hook on each side. it's not straight like a sword is what i mean they have a semi-hooked apperance.

how do u unwrap with lithunwrap, i have it but i use Gmax and it does not support Gmax:bgrun: can I import to wings, unwrap with Lithunwrap then export wit Gmax?

if you use gmax to model i think you have to use dex to print to listener then convert that to mdx then get text edit and open up the mdx and save as .obj. i lithunwrap you open the model go to selection->all the go to tools->uvwwrapper(or somthing like that)->planer then choose a radius that works the best. once you do that go to file->uv map->save and save as a tga. then skin that and save it. in lithunwrap select eveeything(if you deselected them) and go to material->modify. select default and click properties. go to diffuse map(it has a scrolly thing) and go to bitmap then hit properties. select your skin and there. you should have a skined version. just export as 3ds and open it in gmax load the skin on in there and export
