Hey there, all. This is my first attempt at a model, so I wanted to post a picture and find out if I'm going about it in the right way. I plan to make the chest a little more muscular, hunch the shoulders over a bit, and have the wings jut from the back at an angle. (And, obviously, add a head and legs). So... Am I doing anything wrong?

Really? Uh oh... I'll try to cut it down a bit. Here's my updated picture


(Obviously, no head yet)
(Not so obviously, he has a tail)

Updated a few things. Head is really really hard, hence it is still not present. As I said I'm new at this, but I got the stance better now, methinks. Comments welcome!

dude one thing is all the little bones in the wings can be made in the skining prosses so you dont have to add them in your model and add usless polys.
2nd same thing as i stated abpve exept with the muscless. you need it to look like it has some muscles in the body but not that detailed of onjes


how many polys is it?

Newest update (Still not sure I like the head). His bottom jaw isn't there yet. It's just the upper part of his skull.


How do you check poly count?

Looks impressive.
It's the balrog from the lotr movie right?:D
But the poly count is way to high.
I think this belongs into the gallery, so a mod could you move it there?

Yes, it is the Balrog. Unfortunately, it is about 1100 polys. (Thanks, DS, for telling me how to do that). What do you think would be an acceptable level for a unit that there will only be one of?

It think 1100 will work if you only have 1 of it.
