Guest | This seems to be the right forum to post this considering this information because it says: 'Post your tools, programs and editors in this forum'. I've written a nice little single player program - it isn't really so much a hack, but it has a rather serious multiplayer application, and that's why I'm putting the information up here - for feedback on it. What it does is allow you to change the speed of the game by pressing the '+', and '-' buttons, and informs you in-game which speed it's at. In addition to the regular speeds of: 3: slow 4: medium 5: fast I've also made it possible to change the speed to: 0: still 1: slowest -2 2: slow -1 (3-5) 6: fast +1 7: fast +2 8: fast +3 9: fast +4 10: fast x2 15: fast x3 20: fast x4 25: fast x5 50: fast x10 It's very useful in single player games for switching between regular speed, to fast speeds - when you're waiting for something to build for instance, and slow speeds - for more control when a fight starts. It's very cute and useful etc, but has a multiplayer side effect. What happens when you use it during multiplayer is that it causes games to INSTANTLY go out of synch, and you either get a victory if you're the host, or get disconnected if you're not the host. I admit: I'd keep it to myself for a long time and hack the ladder if I could, except for the fact that you get no win/loss on your Bnet record, and no experience points either, by getting a victory this way. The (evil) benefit of this is being able to desynch a game instantly to prevent getting a loss on your record if you're about to lose in a game on Bnet, but obviously this also prevents the other person from getting a win. One other slightly cool thing I've done is getting to level 1 after getting my first victory by desynching, while having no games, and no experience points on my record, but that was as far as I could go with it. There might be some other Bnet application of it - I haven't tested it all that much. So what do you think? |

We do not support Hacks here. As you said, this tool can be used with other intentions so i guess it is a hack. I know that sometimes the idea is not to hack (like increase the single player speed) but if it can be used as a hack, believe me: IT WILL BE USED AS A HACK BY SOME GUYS. I guess you should keep this only to you. Thanks for asing first instead of releasing it. Help us DEVELOP de W3 community, not destroy it. |
