Hia all I'm currently working on my AoS style map, Heaven and Hell, and I've come to my hero selection system. But I'm in need of help! My idea was to use the awesome selection system made by: Magos (His Hp). The system is very informative and looks very nice. But it's missing some features before it could be used. I have been granted permission to alter his triggers if needed, although they will OF COURSE still be his triggers, but the modifications would be yours.... Yes, yours, I need your help to alter this Hero Selection System. This is what I need added: 1: 2 split Selection, 1 for each sides players. Currently it is only possible to make 1 side, but it should be easy to change, I'm just not sure how! 2: Random Hero Selection. After a few plays, people will know the characters and since they (hopefully) will be balanced and just as fun to play, they might want to use the random feature. 3: Hero exclusion. Whenever a hero is selected, I need him to either: (A) Be removed from the selection all in all, not being able to see his stats, name or the model. (B) Get a big fat red X over the model, still displaying stats, name and model, but not being able to pick it. (This would be prefered) Full credits for modifications would be given to the creator after credits to Magos. Also, permission to use this system BEFORE my map comes out (I would like the map to be private when the changes ocour, untill I release my map, then the triggers will be made public) I'm attaching the map in wich the changes should be made. So anyone who wish to help (or just want this AWESOME selection system) can dl it. Post here, e-mail me or catch me on msn: [email protected] Thanks in advance |

I think it would be better if you ask magos himself to enhance his Selection System, I believe it would be easier for him to do it. And he seems to be helpful too. |

I asked Magos, and he kindly replied to me that he wasn't going to change his trigger at this time, nor did he think to do so in the near future. But he did (as said in the post above) give me permission to change what I wanted. He sound like a nice guy, just no help to get there :) |

I have been tweaking Mago's Selection system myself for a while, and I'm almost hesitant to post because of the time I spent with no help myself, but, for #1 you should alter Unit - Create 1 Selection_HeroType[Selection_CurrentHero[TempInteger]] for TempPlayer at (Center of (Playable map area)) facing Default building facing degrees with an If/Then/Else specifying whehter or not TempPlayer is an ally of (Player X), and have it move to the appropriate region instead of center of playable map. |

Great stuff, that actually takes care of the problem with the sides, but the heroes will still show for every player...ally or not.. I've been thinking about making two player groups...not sure if that would work though, as I'm not advanced in triggers it's very hard for me to get them placed right :P I understand why your hesitant to post it, as it's a pain in the butt if someone claims it for their own :( I would never do this, and if you could help me out with my issues...I would be more than gratefull, just understand, a no is ok, as I know how you feel :) Thx for at least a bit of help....guess it's back to staring at the screen for 2 hours :P lol |

You have the right Idea. I would start by looking into changing activeplayers into 2 seperate groups. Just make sure you triple check every section of the triggers. I'm not looking at the editor right this sec, but that would be a start point. |

Zwan, mind if I pm you with questions when I need some help? I won't be a total pain :P And I always try my hardest (I've spent so long trying to do this) But you have already helped me a ton :) I'm actually positive that I can do this, but it's proven to be a bit harder than I expected :P I'll just have to try.. :P Thx |

Why dont you just rewrite the system. It would be alot easier, because its hard to use someone elses variables and things. Also if something is coded at the begining then everything based on that, it becomes really hard to change. So what you want might be at the bottom. :-/ If you want I could help you rewrite it. PM me if you want to. |
