Cool gameplay idea

Hi i just had a great idea when walking home. Ive heard that you plan to make multiple characters playeble i dont know if its true, but what if you fight in teams like normal fps shooter, and one person in each team is the "commander". This guy build building and gathers gold from a normal above wc3 view. He takes care of the management while the others fight. Since youre using the wc3 engine this might be possible to do. Just a cool idea that others probebly thought of just wanted to share it with you.

i dont like it. i came for the free FPS game:gsmile: jk. that would be good for single wher than you could have a rainbo 6 like game, but for MP, no, i want to be killing up close and personal, not safely behind a huge army. this is one of the reasons i want this.

Just go play savage if you want to do that. It wouldn't work with such a low number of people.

the idea has already been used for hl but i guess it could be done for wc3 but it would take some work humm

Hey don't put down the idea...although it isn't original and has already been stated in fact =), other than done in Savage and NS.
It's simply too easy to do for us to ignore, and don't say there's too little people, there's actually no limit (besides lag) to how many people can play on a server, we just have to code it that way. As for comparisons to NS, most games are 5 on 5, at least in tournaments.

Think about it as this: he's basically suggesting Aeon with one guy as the "army" or army builder. Get it?
Or you could do it without units. Maybe even this:
build skills. Some people can build like mortars, s, and so on, as they are peons or "engineers" or whatnot.

That is a very good idea... enabling a gameplay mode like that. I have two alternatives... in head.

First, the commander can be allowed to view normally top view... and controls miners and building stuff... he can supply others with weapons and decide on what kinda of equipment they get: pump up fst lil guns or wait for the big bomb? he will decide and other players will have to defend ressource places and weapon factories and stuff like that. The commander gets to build defensive towers and maybe build vehicules that allow the other players to control.

2nd, A unit class like in firearms, but this one is an engineer and when u choose that class u get a warp tower or wateva that enables you to choose which weapons to warp. The better the longer and so on. And the engineer will have healing capabilities and building turrets. That make him a more defensive unit support the normal ones.

That's pretty much what I said before. An engineer that builds towers, morters, and such. Alls I'm saying is to let it available, and it doesn't need to be in campaign, and map makers will decide...somehow...or something.

I don't like the idea... If something like that is made, it should be an option to use it in the game. Else if it will always be like that i dont want to play.
