Guest | I would like to humbly invite everyone to try Part One of my new single player campaign, WarCraft III - Azaeren Origin. Set twenty-two days before the opening of the first Dark Portal, this campaign introduces a new race, the Azaerens, who were created by the mysterious Arcane Blast. You can find info, guides, and the download here: http://scorpcraft.tripod.com/azaeren I'd appreciate any comments, suggestions, and feedback - good or bad - about this campaign! Thanks! |

Guest | "Temporarily Unavailable The Tripod page you are trying to reach has exceeded its hourly bandwidth limit. The site will be available again in 1 hour!" out of curiosity, how big is part one of this? |
| 08-30-2002, 11:27 PM | #3 |
Guest | It's only 1 MB. A little less than that, even! I hate Tripod and their stupid itsy-bitsy bandwidth restrictions. Keep trying, or drop me a line at [email protected] if you want me to just send you the file. That goes for everybody. |

You could always try useing Geocities, or http://www.sphosting.com/ These both have a good amount of bandwidth but I recomend http://www.sphosting.com Your monthly band width is 3 gigs so a very nice deal there. Wait and before I post this I checked it out I got in. I'll check it out and give you my feed back. |

Ok good then I got there just in time. Any way I played the first map, but I have one problem with it, 2 quest that are undiscorvered can't be found, or unless thats just me, and I took my characters through the whole map there is no way out, well as far as finding the last 2 quest. And ill send you an email when I have the time. |

Guest | I'm playing the campaign right now, making this list as I go along... After one map is done, it does not continue on to the next... Workers summon buildings (as the undead do)...that's not a good thing here... Not exactly sure how you did the researches at the nature commune, but you can que up the same research up to 7 times. The watch towers shouldn't be used for food. It just doesn't exactly fit, I'd suggest using a small log den instead, and calling it "Creature Den" or something...make the towers for defense, not for food and defense... The terrain...as far as the textures go, it's good, but you need to make it bumpy...a flat terrain just doesn't work in this case...either use random height field, or use a size 5 brush + height:noise The bear hero...that you start with...I'm not sure if it should have a ranged attack...just seems wierd, maybe just my personal preference First Map (not including the cinematic...) : Catapults? They just don't fit the theme...you should create some seige creature... Nature Communes : The regeneration thing is cool, but the auras are given before the building is complete... The menagerie needs a hotkey... First Map : Monstosity needs a stronger attack, and possibly more armor...I took away about 1/3 of its hp with 3 treants :S Leveling...In the wc3 campaigns, the hero can only gain one lever per map, to prevent them from getting too strong too soon. I suggest doing the same on each of your maps, using a trigger that turns of experience gain after the hero has gained a level. The seige golem building...it doesn't look very arcane, it kinda looks like a 40 year old shed you'd find in someones back yard, and it has an experience bar... ?? Your nature commune will heal hostile units... I think the seige golems have a little too much armor... Map #2 : You can't build defensive towers ... makes this really freaken shitty because you get attacked by a large force every few minutes anyway... Map #2 : How ****in high were you when you made this? Did you even try map 2? ... well, I'm done playing for now, may or may not bother with map #2 ****in bs...besides the many bugs and stuff, the story seems quite promising and entertaining |

Did you put the whole "Scorp" folder into your Maps directory or just the maps themselves? It should work if they're in the Scorp folder... Quote:
That was originally a glitch, but I kinda liked it. You have the choice of helping build (like the humans) if you want. Quote:
Yeah, I know. It's a problem, but all you have to do is not try researching the same thing more than once. It's a simple thing to remember. Quote:
Maybe. Though I don't see this as too great a problem. Quote:
This is a valid argument. I didn't do enough 3D terrain or weather effects, either... Working on it for Part Two. Quote:
Hey, he's an ARCANE Bear! That Arcane Blast did some funky stuff! Quote:
The catapult is just something that's laying around. If you found one in a crate, you'd use it, right? Besides, the Siege Golem makes his debut in the nest map... Quote:
I can't fix this no matter what I do. Any ideas? Quote:
To be honest, I didn't even really give a thought to the hotkeys. Do the rest actually work??! Quote:
Thank you for the feedback on that. I'll juice up the Monstrosity. Quote:
There are triggers like that in the campaign. I think the cap in map 1 is Level 4, in map 2 it's Level 6, etc. Remember, there are only four playable maps in this campaign, so I had to differ it from Blizz's way... Quote:
Does it? I can't believe I never noticed that... Weird, huh?? Quote:
Hey, nature isn't picky about who it helps. That keeps you from battling too near the Nature Commune. Quote:
I'm looking into that. They'll probably be nerfed (Between not noticing the XP bar on the Siege Hut, and them ahving too much armor, you can tell I didn't use siege too much...) Quote:
You should be able to at the Den of Eternity once its been upgraded. One upgrade makes ALL Watch Towers into Attack Towers. Quote:
Having some trouble with the difficulty? All I can say is I played through it more than once, and at least one other person (just barely without resorting to "whosyourdaddy") did too. Quote:
I hope you'll continue on. Even if you have to work harder or...gasp!...use some codes, I'd like you to see the other maps and critique them too. Is map 2 really that messed up?? Anyway, thatnk you for your honest thoughts. It helps a lot! -Scorp |

Guest | I upgraded to the second den, didn't help my towers...didn't see anything to upgrade them either...I dunno...this is second map, which needs them badly... When I unzipped it, it didn't automatically go into the scorp folder, so I manually unzipped everything into the folder azeran, which would have caused my problem... The workers really shouldn't summon...it's just not right... Quote:
hahahaha Quote:
yah...i mean, i got out of bed yesterday, and tripped over this damn crate...i opened it, and what do ya know, theres this catapult in it. so i take it out, and send a 80 pound boulder through the roof of my sisters bedroom... Quote:
Not quite sure about this, you may be able to do something using trigger sets for when a nature commune finishes being contructed, and when it is destoyed... Quote:
damn lol Quote:
i don't use cheats and i got through the wc3 campaign on hard without them... |

Guest | hmm i guess the upgrade to attack towers is there =) lol...when i upgraded to den of eternity or whatever, my den moved about half a screen away :S |

Guest | seige golems are expensive...and they die quickly to units, so i guess they dont have too many hp or too much armor... the attack towers do not have a (working) hotkey map 2 : the gate floats lol... isn't sylvanus the name of that human archer? cannon towers do way too much damage if anything, sylvanus is too weak map 3 : are you supposed to have control of that knight? -will post more when i play more- good job so far |

Guest | playing map three now...so far, so good, but the arcane quillboars don't do enough damage...You might want to make the arcane quillboars attack about 50% stronger. The pigs are cool though... 48 piggies later, there is a large dent in that hugeass orc base... =) 200-400 piggies later, +1 siege golem, that hugeass base it gone =) lol this is a big map...gonna take me a while...i'll post again after i'm done with the piggy apocalypse |

Guest | you need to make the quest where the second hero u get is captured and u have to save him be the first thing you do, I cleared the entire map, and then, I got the quest to save him :S well, i'm finding the spirits now, so far so good...btw, the seige golem contruction place, does not have an exp bar, but instead, it seems every building AND unit that is created (i havn't looked at your triggers but...) on map 3, the tomb itself has an exp bar, the circle of power near it also has one...and on other maps created units also have this issue finished playing map 3 now...great job, besides the lack of bumpiness, good terrain/map layout too... map 4 -------- first attack wolf i encountered, i cannot control, if i get close control transfers to me, but then if i try to walk away with it, it goes back to neutral... Dispense-A-Unit(R) and Heal-O-(tm) Matic lmfao!! hey, mind if i use those in my maps? :P ah ****in lousy ... grrr ... make sure a defeat trigger isn't run if your hero dies WHILE he has an ankh...and also, down in the corner of the first area, way too hard, i had a little army and it got owned... done playing for now... |
