If you dont know what a demo is go download one and watch it (heres a link to a good classic one link ) This is a rotaing 3d cube that expands and contracts and changes color. It is open source like alot of demos are so you can use it as long as you give me credit please. To help from having newbies(a person who thinks they own every map for WC3) from stealing it, I put it into JASS and obfusicated it a little(nothing too big, just bad style really). Some Problems right now: 1. If it is left running too long it will lag the game when you try and quit, i think this has to do with bad memory management in the WC3 engine, but i could be wrong. 2. I dunno but if you find one tell me. Please tell me your comments on this, any ideas on how to fix the lag problem, and if you wanna see a full fledged demo. ~Talila P.S: Don't vote no if you have no idea what a demo is, it isnt what most of you might think it is, find out what a demo is by dwonloading on from this link its not real big and shows you what a demo is. A demo is not a demonstration of a game, a demo is a demonstration of graphics effcts. P.S.S: This is not for a normal game so it would seem to have no practical use, but its practical use is in a demo, so don't tell me it has no practical use. |

Talila, I feel quite offended that you allow yourself to call people who use normal triggers (made tru we) newbs...just cos we can't do raw jass, doesn't mean that we aren't good mapmakers. Please remove that statement or refrase it.... |

I didnt call people who use normal triggers newbies i actually made the whole thing with normal triggers, i just JASSed it to protect it from the everyday 11 year old who thinks they own the world. |

Ok..... Still, putting it into JASS and obfusicating it makes it real hard for us that aren't good at JASS at all...I never get a thing of JASS triggers whenever I download one, wich means I can't use it for zilch. So this really has no interest for me... |

Although it looks damn nice, I can't see what this could be used for... :) Someone might find it usefull. |

Its an effect for a demo, look at the first post and download what the link goes to, im gonna make something like that in wc3. Not with all the cool mutationg models though, but similar. |

I don't really have any urge to see a floating box, but I'm curious. Are you using a periodic timer to control the movement of the box? If so, I suspect that's where you're getting your framerate crawling. I had a similar problem with some projects of mine. |

The box isnt rotationg, if you can believe that ;), its just moving in and out with a bove instantly trigger. The camera is rotating around it to make the box spin. also, in the end it wont be just a floating box, there will be light effects, and other little effects plus music that goes with it. ~Talila |

I dont get a framrate crawl But anyway, it does look really cool, but I dont see any practical use for it... |

Like im telling everyone else, if you dont know what a demo is then find out by the link in the first post, its a teaser of visuals and music :/ dont just vote no if you dont know what a demo is... The practical use is implementing it into a demo. ~Talila |

I think most people focus on applications, myself included. Now, for instance, if you could figure out a way to create a swinging suspension bridge that units can walk on...THAT would be impressive. (To me, anyway, beings as I tried and can't figure out a way to make it work =). |

Demo's are basicly a advertisement of the authors/groups skills. They are ment to make you go WOW, those are some pretty graphics. The ART of demo making has been around as long as computers where able to light up the pixels on a CRT. Good job Talilia, id love to see some more wc3 engine based demos. Zachary_Shadow: If you don't know jass but are skilled with triggers maybe its time to learn?? |

@ Stoned: I know what JASS is, scripting language, programming a bit like JAVA, just more advanced... I just don't have the time to try and sit down and learn JASS...I know programming takes alot, and I'm not a programmer :P I love that the triggers can be done so easy as they can in WE. BUT! I would love to learn the basics...someday I might :) |
