After playing numerous tower defense maps, I had the idea to create the ultimate tower defense map- Pantheon Maul. It is inspired by Mythology Maul (your races are gods from the greek, egyptian and norse pantheons as well as god and satan) but has tons of unique features. Here are the map's features: 1. A choice of 11-12 different gods chosen by the Soul of Divinity, each one can build 7 different towers. The gods are very different, and each has several unique advantages- some have towers that build extremely fast, others have workers that can move extremely fast around the map, some sell towers for 75% of their cost instead of just 50%, you get the point... Also, many towers can be upgraded. Besides the fact every god has a siege damage tower and a normal damage tower, they are quite different from one another and features unique play styles- for example, Loki is the god of deception and fire and so his towers can cast spells that cripple his enemies, and also have a fast attack and splash damage similar to the fire element of Wintermaul (which is the major inspiration for this map). A tower of Loki's can turn enemies ethereal from time to time, and combined with the magic damage of another tower the results are devastating. The towers of God actually focus on buffing one another temporarily and are very powerful against undead enemies. The map also contains unique concepts for towers like a tower with a powerful immolation ability (either used by Loki or Satan) that units can walk over. Also, all gods eventually gain access to the Guardian at the Gate, which is similar to Wintermaul's laser. I didn't finish the list of towers yet, but they will all be mythological creatures or personalities. 2. 2 resources- souls (gold) and divinity (lumber). Souls are required for almost anything, and you get them by killing normal enemies. You get divinity from killing boses and during bonus levels, as well as every 5 levels starting at level 15. Divinity is required for the more powerful towers and upgrades (called mythic towers), as well as the recruitment of extra workers, champions and new gods' temples (though some gods cannot be built after you've built another god's temple- Loki is a rival of the other Norse gods- Odin and either Thor or Tyr and so he cannot be built together with them, God and Satan are rivals and so on). 3. 35 levels of varied enemies, horrors from beyond that threaten the world of mortals and the gods themselves. Also, 10 (or more) bonus levels which feature unique challenges- like enemies which go "kaboom!" on your towers, enemies with the ability to buff each other, invisible enemies and enemies with divine armor. Some bonus levels might have to be unlocked through special conditions, like "buying" them with divinity or killing a minimum amount of enemies per player. The enemies spawn at 5 different points around the map and they must reach the Gate to Earth in the middle. Each group of enemies containss several bosses that give you divinity instead of souls when killed, and levels 10, 20, 30 and 35 contain all bosses. 4. The ability to build champions, which combine normal towers and heroes. They cost both souls and dvinity and must root to be able to attack. They are more expensive than the most high-end mythic tower and essentialy start out weaker, but they gain levels and can learn skills and spells as they kill monsters. Examples of champions are Surtur- the fire giant king- for Loki and Hercales for Zeus. You can build a champion at your temple at level 15, and they cost food, divinity and souls. For people who know something about map editing, I need help with some triggers: 1. How to create waves and time between waves? 2. How to program the enemies' AI so they move towards the Gate and don't attack towers unless they are blocked? 3. How do I make towers cast spells with their attack? 4. How do I create a souls/divinity/leaks meter at the side? 5. How do I set up difficulty levels, with an allowed number of leaks? 6. How do I set the following condition- when enemy units go through the Gate you lose leaks? |

Well it is great u have a lot of idea but as long as u don't know triggering at all, it will be pretty hard to do your map, anyway here is my map, a TD i made some time ago.....it is not protected so u can see the trigger, u need to have ums world editor (u can find it at download section. then watch my trigger and try to understand how it work.... for tips to make wave and time to stop, set all monster food cost to 1, and say that when food used by computer(player x) = 0, create a timer( next_wave) of 20 sec. and say that when timer expire create monster at region <spawning region> |

Why put maul in the name? It's the ultimate tower defense, so it definitely isn't based off of wintermaul's td... Right? If you just edited a maul map, delete it. If you didn't, I think that the lasers in wintermaul were really cheap and boring... if you do make those laserlike things, dont make them have 9999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999999 9999999999999999999999999 range. |

Yes, the map isn't an edited wintermaul. I wanted to put maul in the name simply out of habit. But it is going to be more similar to Zoator's and Azure Tower Defense. And I thinkt there will be 2 types of Gate Guardians- a long range one which deals damage to a single target and a more short-ranged, slower one with massive splash. Both will deal chaos damage, and will cost 1000 gold and 50 divinity. I think the final name will be Pantheons: At the Threshold of Worlds. |
