most people would probabley say 3ds max but i find that wings is better. it may not have as many features but it is easyer to work with now in the latest version of wings you can unwrap it. |

3d studio max is the best atleast for Warcraft III. I started with it completely blank one year ago when I started modding War III and now I know the most functions. Just search for some tutorials and you will get the hang on it.:D |

I would also have 3dsmax if it didn't cost like $2000 to $5000 I think. I also don't use the K word to get things I want either, I get my friend to steal them instead. DS-Orkhomie- I'm glad you know that you have a "speeling probablem", but I was refering to your spelling problem. JK:ggani: :ggani: |

I've got some pointers on this thread actually... Someone said that Wings didn't have as many functions but is easier to work with. That is just sooooooooooooooo wrong. 3ds MAX works this way: Learn what the buttons does, use modifyers alot, and you've got POWER! After a while it'll get stuck in your head, so sure, Wings is better......for the impatient. MAX may cost much, but believe me, you'll get what you pay for. And I think it's quite absurd that NewbieLord chose to include gMax, it's 3ds MAX, but with about 10% of it's parents options... And then again, it's weird to include MAX/Wings and MAYA in the same poll. MAX focuses on handskills and buttons all over, while MAYA would rather work with one that likes to write values and numbers in boxes, with alot of scripting. And NewbieLord, you forgot Milkshape. |

Yeh i just realised that yesterday... |

3ds is the best, probably because its the only program that can import MDX without losing a anim ation or so... But you can insert animations with MDL editor... So wings can be pretty good too... Wats MAYA? |

I've never heard of Maya, I once saw somebody mention wings 3d, and 3ds MAX is expensive. So you can probably guess the one person who picked gmax. *goes back to gmax tutorial* |

Gmax may have 10% of its parents functions, but its FREE!!!!!!!! (thus, I pick gmax. At least untill I can get my hands on 3ds max in a non-illegal way (read: never) |
