You know why sometimes after a long day of map editing your editor takes 10 years to close down? Wonder how you can fix that? You also probably noticed that you have seemingly unlimited "undo" commands. this is the core of the problem. The editor keeps 256 undos at hand. That means that it, at any one time, has TWO HUNDRED AND FIFTY SIX versions of your map open at ANY ONE TIME. This is fine most of the time, but when you close your map after a days work, the world editor may hang for up to 10 minutes just closing down your 200+ versions of the map. Especially, it seems, if you've been doing other stuff and the WEs been on the whole day. I don't know why. The answer: go to terrain editing window, file\preferences\general and set the "undo limit" to something reasonable, like 100. This should be enough to undo up around 5-10 minutes of constant terraining. If you need to do more? that's why you save often. Hope this helps someone. |

undo holds only: object type x,y,z,r owner If it were to copy the entire map, then my dear chap, it would stuff your memory after placing a few trees. But undo is a factor, but not a large one so to speak. |
