Basically, if anyone has ever played the "Emperor: Battle for Dune" campaign by Westwood Studios (now EAGames), that is what this will be like. A large world map where the player can choose to attack an adjacent territory, and in doing so, will load a new map where they will get a clip of the story (voiced), and their objectives (voiced). The missions will not simply be: attack a territory, and start with a hero and few workers and overcome a dug-in enemy base. There will be some of them, and they will actually be the core objective, however, each territory will have a few surrounding 'installations'/'sub-bases.' Attacking these will put you in a mission where you must infiltrate one of these 'sub-bases' and steal an item or skill knowledge, etc. This will ultimately help your hero and/or your cause in general. Obviously, this campaign will NOT be linear... so therefore complex scripting is important: accomplished quests and recovered items/information/technology will carry over into all future quests. Yet, in doing this, I do not want to have 20 maps for every potential mission; that's where the scripting comes in. Example 1: You take out a surrounding installation (not mandatory, but useful) and then you attack the central base. That central base will receive less reinforcements because you destroyed a supporting base. Example 2: You acquire a technology from the enemy, and that technology will no longer be available to that enemy in future (unless they steal it back, of course.) And of course, all attacks will have to be represented on the World Map. All of this will be strung together with an original, elaborate storyline. Who I Need (in order of priority): - At least one (1) map artist (terrain). This/these person/people will need to be able to make several gorgeous map. They can't be bland, and must be original and constantly changing. - At least one (1) graphic artist. This/these person/people will be responsible for making the buttons in the game (Spell/Unit icons, etc). - At least one (1) experienced trigger-writer. This/these person/people will be responsible for writing the in-map scripts to compliment the storyline, objectives, and overall uniqueness of individual maps. Should be familiar with dialogue windows and buttons. JASS not required, but a definite plus. - At least one (1) experienced scripter. This/these person/people will work on the transition scripts from map to map and caching of data. Should be familiar with dialogue windows and buttons. Should have a knowedge of JASS. - At least one (1) skill/item/unit artist. This/these person/people will make the new skills, items and units/heroes for the campaign. Must be original, not simply renaming a current item/skill/unit/hero and changing stats. - At least one (1) experienced AI writer. The enemy computer players need to recognize the most beneficial locations on the world map to attack and need to develop some overall 'strategy.' Maps that aren't melee-esque will need their own AI also. - At least one (1) script writer/editor. This/these person/people will be the ones to write the in-game dialogue of all characters and further develop the story. You will have much creative freedom. All characters must be consistant and have a moderate- to high-level of depth. - At least X voice actors. All in-game dialogue WILL be voiced, and talented actors will be needed. Note: As the story and dialogue is not yet written, an exact number of voice actors cannot be determined. - At least one (1) midi artist. This/these person/people will write original music for the campaign. If you are interested and are experienced in any of the above areas, please contact me at: [email protected] Thanks for your time, ~Nikolae |

You want to hire every skill availeble, but perhaps you should say what you could do yourself. I am already with a project so I can't help. And you said a huge map, I am a terrainer but I don't really like 256 x 256 or 418 x 418 or something like that... Anything above 192 x 192 is a bit too much for me :( Uhhum, anyway good luck with it. |

As for me, I'm not totally skill-specific; I dable in everything. As for combining jobs, indeed that would definitely be a plus. I was simply pointing out everything that would need to be done, and if someone can handle 2 or 3 of those jobs, that's an added bonus. However, as this is a huge project, I thought that having more, area-specific team members might be beneficial. Thanks for your input though, ~Nik |
