About Map Protection

Ok i was wondering if you could just change the map to read-me only format. That way it should not be editable anymore but you should still be able to play the map. I was just wonder if this would work or is there anyway to counter this?

theres just weaaddar's map protection thing right now. if you protect your map with it, you can't open it up with world edit (well noone can) but it still works in the game.

i know i have it and have used it but i have been trying to say is that you can make the map to READ-ME only and it should work the same way without in a 1 sec processes, but i just want to know if there is a way to counter this.

For example the Warcraft cd is read-me only so it cant be copyed or or edited.

if you mean read-me meaning u want to still be able to look at it in WE then Zepir is workin on a read-me protection, i believe. counters to that I wouldn kno since its not out, lol.

counters to weaaddar's protection, well sure theres workarounds around it, but the main thing is, that it blocks the average joe schmoe who is too lazy to actually delve in the w3m mpq structure and make it actually work. i think even if you were to try and take out the protection you wouldn be able to look straight at the triggers (only through the .j i believe)

Yeah thats right, even though i did not know there was a way to get around the map protector... eh well. You know you should not even have to protect your maps i find people stealing maps is rather low and just plain stupid. I mean there is ways of learning out there, one is at this very site. So my god i hate lazy *beep* people.
