A very complicared map (well for me) which I've been working on for a long time has suddenly gone, well.... corrupted, I think.

Last night, I finished up a bit of work on it and saved it as usual.

Today, when I try to open it, I get an illeagle operation message.

It happens when it gets to loading dooads.

Here's what it says in 'more details':

WORLDEDIT caused an invalid page fault in module WORLDEDIT.EXE at 015f:006ca0a4.

That's exactly what it says, number for number, and it was a piss off to copy out.

The only thing I can think of is the fact taht I have a custom model for a doodad in there, but it worked perfectly fine before.... PLEASE help me, it took me along time to make this map.

Are you using a different editor that the regular TFT WE? If so, which one, and do you have any folders in your wc3 directory that weren't there when you installed the game?

I"m using the normal editor and the only file that's different is that UI file that you made, which allows you to increase terrain higher then normal, though there's none of it in the map I attached...

It could be that you have been using foreign language characters. I've been using them in one of my maps and it gave me an error message when I was trying to open it.

I've fixed the problem by extracting the .j file from the .w3m (w3m cuz it was back in the days of RoC) and erased the trigger. Then I somehow deleted it also from the w3t. When it finally worked I've opened two versions of my map - one with the w3t and .j files, the other without. I've copied the triggers from the one map to another and saved the map that previously had no .j or w3t file. That's my unpleasant story. Hope this will help you save your map and that it won't take you so long as it took me. ;)
