Alias has decided to release a FREE "personal" version of Maya. They decided to call it the learning edition and you can use it for anything non-commercial. Quote "Maya Personal Learning Edition 5 offers almost every feature found in the full commercial version of Maya Complete(TM) 5 including an industry-leading set of modeling, animation, rendering and effects tools."

No I dont think so but I am checking the site daily and I am about to e-mail them...but personally i think 3ds max is better for making units and stuff and maya is better for making bildings and objects...:D

if only discreet would do that for 3dsmax and Gmax

actually maya ple isn't that good at all. you can't see non-wireframe or render without a huge watermark over it saying 'maya ple', and the format doesn't export to anything. If you're looking for free modelling programs gmax is far, far better.

Yes but after you get better Gmax becomes a dead end...You need 3dsMAX:ggani: :ggani:

I figure it out....
to get a file from maya to wc3 you need 3ds and maya...
save the file in maya
somehow open it in 3ds
import it into wc3
:D
