In my opinion Wings3D is the best, at first it seems horrible but once you start using it a lot you can make models fast and easily, and half decent.

You could try Milkshape. It's specifically for making game models, so you don't have to work around all those features than come in 3d Studio Max or Gmax. There's a 30 day trial, which is probably enough to decide if you want to use it or not. If so, it's only $25 to buy.

The best modeling program hasn't been done yet, and I doubt it ever will, considering what rate technology moves today.

And I don't simply get it? Wings3D ain't no BIT easier than 3ds. Both are easy as hell once you learn them, but because 3ds has so many more functions that lil' 3d-wannabie-kiddies don't bother to learn, they'll just think the Wings actually is better.

It's a shame that those kiddies never ask themselves before getting Max "Do I really want to become a modeller, or does this just seem cool at the moment?"

true Ilyaelencala

for the whole purpose of modelling, meaning not just for this game, but the whole job, your alot better off getting 3d studio max 5, or if you want to try sumat different you could try maya, that is another nice program to use if your seriuse about 3d modelling :D

First off gmax CAN export, ive done it alot of times to know

i like using wings to make the basic part, and then go to gmax and make it better:ggani: Do this if you don't want to spend money.

Milkshape is alright but i personnally found it too slow, but it is up to you.
