1) can you make it so a gate is "owned" by a player? this way ememys would automaticly target it. 2) is there any way to let a bulding be placed on an "unbuildable" tile? |

1. The only way to do this is to make a new unit with the model of the gate. But this is known to have problems. 2. In the object editor there is a box that say "Building Placement Requires" and if you look at undead, it will say blight, but if you look at the other races it will say "Buildable" I think if you remove that then it could be built anywhere.. |

Ahh... the gate. I made one of these awhile ago. Method 1 (Not sure if it works) Make a gate unit Make a 2nd gate unit that looks the same in all ways but has the "Archway" pathing. Make a morph spell called "Open Gate" and give it to the first gate unit. MAke the spell morph the 1st gate into the 2nd one, and play Death Alternate animations. Method 2 (Works, but the gate gets replaced to it moves, and you can notice it moving, this is bad) Make dummy spells called "Open Gate" and "Close Gate" Make it so when you cast open gate, the closed gate gets replaced by an open gate and play Death Alternate animation Then to the same for the spell called "Close Gate" but without the Death alternate animation bit Edit: This "Open Gate" would have Archway pathing too |

hmmm, anyone know how to rotate a gate "unit" without a trigger(IE when placing it in WE)? |

if your using the gate model on a unit, just lock his movement and make him face a certain angle by clicking on it in we and pressing enter (that what u meant?) |
