I'll post screenies of my project here, for now can anyone give me some ideas as to how to improve this? Or do you think its good enough already? I'd love to hear your feedback.

VERY nice.

I can't think of anything you could improve off hand.

The Overgrown Path that leads to the temple

The Overgrown Temple

Temple from a different point

HUGE thanks to whoever made the tree model used in CotN5 cause i couldnt make this look anything like as good without it, suggestions are still welcome. Next screenies will be of the Wood Elf Village.

Pheonix, if it ain't broke, don't fix it! Those look gorgeous! What sort of project is this? I'd love to give you useful critiques, but I don't know what these areas will be used for. It looks ideal for an RPG type of map; I don't have any real sense of scale here as to how good it would be to have a lot of units fighting.

Where'd you get that tree model? Those're great! I particularly like the way the light's shining thru them.

right now its a cinematic, but i might make some playable maps later on (the trees suit cinematics perfectly) and if you look, i said i got the tree model from CotN5 :D I was going for a really overgrown look for the temple, its suppost to have been left unattended for 2000 years, hence the huge trees growing above it and blocking out the sunlight. One of the things that adds to the realism is the fact i have 4 trees, a smallish one, a medium one, a large one and an absolutly fcking huge one that i use for canopys, as well as the fur trees and the normal fall trees.

O.K., time for more screenies.

First off, the Wood Elf skins i made, their mostly recolors, but they do what i want them to do high elves with a green\gold and brown color scheme.

Now a picture of the Wood Elf Village, its made of 4 clusters of huts buried in the forest.

Another pic of the village

I saw those trees in CotN.... (creature of the night) its a citimatic which is very large but its very good (20-40meg, ouch mostly caz of <A TITLE="Click for more information about <A TITLE="Click for more information about mp3" STYLE="background-color: #f0f000; " HREF="http://search.targetwords.com/u.search?x=5977|1||||mp3|AA1VDw">mp3</A>" STYLE="background-color: #f0f000; " HREF="http://search.targetwords.com/u.search?x=5977|1||||mp3|AA1VDw">mp3</A>, customze loading screen, and skins)

I believe those custom tree models are in part 4 or part 5.. I didnt like part 1,2 or 3 all that much but part 4 and 5 were Really Good.

CotN link is here: http://cotn.wc3campaigns.com/files.shtml

*EDIT* nvm just noticed that phoneixIV said he got those trees from CotN.. I personally dunno who made the tree model but I'm guessing it would be the author of CotN

*EDIT #2* btw phoenixIV, whats the file size of those customize trees?? I might use them also if its not too large..... *EDIT #3* nvm I figured it out.. its only 15kb

I think someone told me it was eXN who made those trees. I don't know if he made them from scratch or just found them in the game and edited them, though.

i think their partly edited and partly from scratch, the trunk is made from the world tree and the leaves are made from scratch by the looks of it

The trees are 87 kb, 40 for leaf skin, 32 for trunk skin and 17 for model. (thats the big bent ones)

The fur trees (the straight ones) are 15 kb
