That's wrapping. Try placing those parts on a different place on the uvw map. As far as I can see you have selected the elemnt those parts are on and "mapped it from one side" Try selecting those elements and use boxmapping on them, if you are using 2d studio max 5.:D |

Since this is concerning UVW wrapping I would think it'd be better placed in the Modeling forum. [MOVED] |

You should split the titan into pieces. Arm, legs, Head, body, etc. To break pieces off, make the model an 'editable poly', go into the polygon selection, select the polygons and use 'detach', then check the 'detach to element' box. Then split those in half, rotate the back half and then move any vertices that happen to behind anything. Then arrange the pieces, place a 'uvw mapping' modifier on it, Planar. Make sure it covers all the pieces. Then put a 'uvw unwrap' modifier on it, and click edit, then using that move any pieces that are the same so that they overlap each other. Once that is done, use textporter to make a texture file. It may be the long, and slightly difficult way to do it, but it will give you the best results in skinning. Remember that when you have the skin you want, go into the 'uvw unwrap' modifier and click save, and save the .uvw file. Later on the model, the unbroken up one, give it a 'uvw unwrap' modifier and load the .uvw file you loaded earlier so that the skin wraps the model properly. |

How would you make the Titan So symetrical? the gun recoiling on the end for example, or the model itself, how did u adjust each and every polygon to match up on the X/Y Axis On The Opposite Side? i use wings, im a noob. im trying to get some starcraft models, starting with protoss. if u got the tools i need, post them, the Model File Type Converter, and anything else ill need, ty. -kane635 |

u can dl all the files needed at the dl section of the site, just go 2 tools. I made it symmetrical by mirroring 1 side and making the clone an instance, wich means that whatever u do to 1 side it happens to the other I cant post the tools needed because I do not know of a importer or exporter for wings:bgrun: sry, also, if I posted the fileconverter etc. I would need to post all the .dll files as well, just do what I said and look in the tools section:D sry, and good luck:D -Andy- |
