I'm having trouble overriding the tooltips displayed when the cursor hovers over the Armor-Type or Damage-Type indicator on the InfoPanel.
I've created my own InfoPanelStrings.fdf and imported it into my campaign as UI\FrameDef\InfoPanelStrings.fdf; as Custom_V0\UI\Framedef\InfoPanelStrings.fdf; and as Melee_V0\UI\Framedef\InfoPanelStrings.fdf, as Saethori suggested...
But although I changed all attack types and armor types to "Cheese," nothing changed in my map...
What am I missing? Someone please help me out here, it's driving me out of my mind!
Er.. regarding the first, why not? It sure seems like you can use them, given that they're text files and have little comments at the top explaining what they're for...
And regarding the second, I'm pretty sure I've got the correct file; in war3.mpq it's in GlobalStrings.fdf but in war3x.mpq and war3xlocal.mpq it's quite definitely InfoPanelStrings.fdf - the changed TOC points to it, and the war3x GlobalStrings doesn't have the armor/damage strings in it.
Nothing in the UI folder can be used as local files. Stupid Blizzard! The only way to do this is by making your own custom game .MPQs and giving them to anyone who wants to play your map.
InfoPanel.fdf like all other fdf, except GlobalStrings.fdf and GameStrings.fdf is used only for displaying the frames. The armor types and things are NOT defined in there.
