hmm, I have a gate "unit" but no matter how large I set the colistion size units can walk right through it. do I need to set some sort of collision rotaion thingie, or is there a way to give a unit a pathing map?

Change the pathing map... collision size only applys if the pathing map is one where the unit can't walk on/thru it.

Or just place pathing blockers where they shouldn't be able to enter, and the collision, middle of the gate, will automaticaly block there, making the door work.

im having a problem with pathing map too, but in a different case:
i was bored and decided "wouldnt it be cool if i made a hero with the model of a ancient protector"
then i thought "what if i could give the hero ancient the root ability, that would be even better.."
but unfortunatly, when i try and root the hero, it says "unable to root there" or some such, and the ghost image of where im rooting doesnt have the green square like it does if its a building. i came to the conclusion that its cause of pathing but theres no field for a hero type unit to enter the pathing - pathing map value in.
i was wondering if anyone could help me figure this out. that might be the same problem hunter is having...
hey try this: make the unit (its a gate right? but its a unit with gate model, so you can move it around?) be based off the uprooted ancient protector. then it should have the pathing map of a building, so units would have to be blocked by it. just an idea....

Mine is a unit so it can rotate(you cant rotate buildings, or can you because that would fix my problem)the horizontle/vertical gate modle is only one of them when used as a building(theres no way to change it) and since the unit has no pathing map field, it doesnt work....

You can't rotate buildings without model editing.

But, I may have a solution:
Make a a new building, change its model and pathing map to the gate you want, and then, go to the Is A Building option in the Unit Editor. Uncheck this, and voila, your building becomes a unit, but keeps its building things. Once you've turned it into a unit, you cannot edit any building options, so make sure you get them right before you make the change.

no, that doesnt work, I tried it 20,000(well maybe 10) times. Howwever, for some reason my building can roatae so im happy anyway:ggani: :ggani: :ggani:

PS: Like my sig, I think thats a nice quote, don't you?

@ Biflspud Hmmm, if I have such bad edditcut, how come you post one msg for that as the intire reason? isn't that considered spam as well?
