I'm new to skinning (hence my name). I was having difficulty replacing unit skins, but i think i figured it out now, i succesfully replaced the Phoenix and Demon Hunter skins. But when i tried to skin the normal tauren it didnt show up. Anyway, I am trying to reskin the Tauren Chieftain by adding some nice looking armor to him. I found 2 paths, using Draco's list (thanks dude). They are Units\Orcs\HeroTaurenChieftain\HeroTaurenChieftain .blp Textures\HeroTaurenChieftain.blp I replaced both of them and tested the map. To my dismay, the skin only replaced the tauren portrait, not the actual skin on the model. The skin looks pretty darn good on the portriat (considering it is my first skin ever). I have attached the picture of the portrait at the bottom of the post. Can someone please tell me what im doing wrong, and help me skin the taurens body please. |

First of all, I believe the only path is the Textures one. And I think I know your problem. How did you replace the skin? Did you use Tech MPQ? If so, whenever you import a skin via Tech MPQ, then save your map (remember, it saves your map when you test it from WE) the the skin won't save. So, if you used Tech MPQ, then just import the skin using the Textures path onto your map, open up WC3 and test your map from there. If you imported using the Import Manager, then just make a new map, and import only using the Textures path and you can save your map and test through WE and your skin should be there. |
