creating units that seem to come alive

right so there's the unit - create action. How about something that instead of making them appear, makes it look like they are coming alive. You know like skeletions climbing out of the ground (zombies too!). That's actually exactly what I'm looking to do is make things crawl out of their graves.

Frogge, that's a great idea. Units need birthing animations, too. Tell ya what -- why don't you go ahead and start working on the modelling for every unit spawning? Not just skeletons clacking up from piles of bones, but everything. That way, you'll have your wish.

Could try doing this tru triggers, by making a unit that flys, and changing it's movement height to -...then raising it and replacing that unit with the ground one...not sure if this will work though...

actually i think i figured it out. And when i say figured it out i mean looked it up in a blizzard map. Here's what you do:

ACTION Unit: Create X Skeleton Archers (or whatever)
ACTION Animation: Play last created unit's "birth" animation

it doesn't give quite the effect that i was hoping for... that is to say it happens really fast, but it's still better than just creating them there.

You can temporary change the unit's animation, there is a trigger action like Animation - Set Unit Animation speed or something
