Modified melee???

Is anyone actually interested in playing melee style games on B.NET, but with custom units? Because I have loads of sets of extra units/abilities/items/other objects for each race, but they don't really fit in the standard Custom Game maps.

i always play melee on bnet, i rarely play custom games. But what kind of custom units do you have in mind?:bgrun:

there was a thread a lot like this not long ago. it inspired me to make a altered melee map that i am doing right now. i'll find the thread

I've got about 50 units/building for each race. I also have a custom building system so you can easily make them all. Not only that, but I have about 100 custom creeps. All of my custom units that have abilities have custom abilities. I've also got loads of items. They were origionally for a singleplayer campaigns, but I got bored with it, so it went bust. Now I have loads of objects that I spent ages making and balancing, just sitting away on my Hard-drive.

Altered melee maps are actually some-what common. My project for example is one. Your idea is nothing too new, but I'd be interested to see what you got planned.

Make it into a melee, I'd really like to see that. If you've got as much stuff as you say you have, it shouldn't take long to make a fairly good modified melee.

Well, there are tons of modified melee games, but with your features, a map like that would certainly be interesting. However, I'd have to see the map and what exactly you had in mind to comment further. However, I think it'd be pretty cool.

I just had another idea. What if I had random weather/climate effects which alter the way units act? Also things like volcanoes and meteors.

That sort of thing shouldn't be hard to do.

Yeah, I just ckecked out that thread and said... Damn! Why didn't I think about it??

That volcano and tornado stuff would be cool for even for a tower Defense.... (nah, not a TD) Hell, good Idea

About your melee map, DO IT MAN!!!!!!! If you have that many unit/buildings just do it!!!

Heh, don't worry about it, 35; I didn't patent those ideas. Frankly, I'd just like to see melee maps mix it up a bit. By all means, do make your map, I'd be game for a novel melee map.

Hmm how bout instead of killing creep's your able to get them to join your side, like there are 2 troll berserker's 2 troll priest and 2 forest troll's. Now if you kill a both berserker's and a preist the rest just join on your team because they would they can't win this fight. But let's say you kill 2 berserkers and then you start to run away while they chase you and you kill a preist while your running away, they won't side with you because you are too weak and unworthy for not proving your strong. The way i look at it, is that only lower creep's will join your side all because they dont have as much pride as there higher level friend's and they would just rather stay alive and be a wuss. The level of creeps that will join your side will be lvl 4 and lower. They also don't cost any food because they could possible supplie it thereselve's. It would open new gameplay to the game such as everytime you creep you will have to focus fire to get some extra warrior's. It will be alot harder because well a good way to creep in wc3/wc3:tft is to kill the lower level creep's first then work your way up to the higher level creeps and for this system you will have to start killing the higher level creeps which will put you on some disadvantage because it take's alot longer to kill the higher level creeps then the lower one's,and during that time the lower level creep's are attacking dealing damage to your unit's.

It will be great because those newb's would forget to focus fire and lose troop's they could of had.

you would have to have a trigger for every creep camp, and we're talkin at least 4 :)
