I wonder, has anyone experimented lately with abilities like War Club, Force of Nature, or Sentinel? Do you know what kinds of limitations these abilities have? Can they be altered to affect units, wards, structures? Are their limitations to the ways that they can be altered (i.e. elements that are hardcoded)? |

Can't you just change the allowed targets in the ability editor? |

You can make War Club target other things. Force of Nature is hard-coded and so it Sentinal. |

I'm not sure about War Club, but I'm pretty sure Force of Nature and Sentinel are only hardcoded to target trees. |

You CAN set other doodad's flags to Tree. I modified force of nature to turn rocks into animated statues -- simply go to the doodad you'll want to target and set 'em to Tree as well. Naturally, only destructible doodads have target settings, but there's nothing preventing you from making more "trees" with other models. Also, Eat Tree is not tree specific; you can have it be a devour ability if you like (of course, it's abusive, since it doesn't check for level of target AND heals you up 100). |

Hey, didn't think of that. Only problem is, that other stuff that is only meant to target trees could target the new 'trees'. |

True, but how often are all the tree targetting skills really going to overlap in a map? Crazy thought - can you war club a unit? That'd be awesome to grab up a unit like a weapon and cudgel his buddies. You'd have to replace the war club attachment with something else, like an impaled corpse.. Worth a try. |

Thats just evil........... I'll try it! *Does a hideous cackling laugh* |

Ah, yes, I can see it now... Peasants harvesting rocks and statues and magically turning them in to lumber when brought back to the town hall. :ggani: I never thought of that... that just might work too. It'd crack me up to see a Mountain Giant fighting while using a Paladin's Hammer, or a Mountain Giant fighting with an impaled corpse. :gsmile: |

I seem to be missing something. Everything else about Meat Club works fine, but the second attack isn't enabled. I'm not sure why not. Check it out: |

Funny. Picking up units with War Club is exactly what I had in mind when I started this thread. I guess I should be more careful about how open I am with these ideas. Ah, what the heck. Do something really cool with. I know I will be. And I'll check your map when I get home, Biflspud. I'm in the Humanities building right now; for some reason, they don't have Warcraft 3 installed on these computers. |

Aw, c'mon, Panto, the fun of map making, IMHO, is doing goofy stuff that you probably won't even use in a map just to see what can be done with them. I doubt anybody playing your map will think a unit-targetted war club is any less hilarious because the idea "got out." I certainly don't expect any praise for an idea contribution - I just hope to see the results, like 35's and SupraGod's environmental chaos melee maps. As for why you don't have WC on your humanities computers, I'm shocked! After all, the humans are one of the four races in Warcraft. Didn't they teach you anything about the epic human vs orc wars in History? :ggani: |

I found a bug man, if u target yourself, well, it, umm, makes you dissapear. Also, cant you have the clude face forward? cause it looks wierd like that. |

Just tick Not Self in the targets box to fix that. I'm gonna use this in my Enhanced Melee maps. It fits perfectly with my Zombie Behemoth. You'll have to guess what that is till I start Beta-testing. |

Woops. Sorry, left that one out. I'll change that, although I won't update the map until I get the no damage thing fixed. Club: Sure, just as soon as you invert the model for me, Hunter. |
