I just started my first map. I wanted to try making one of the heros from the ground up; that is model and everything. Its gonna be a cyberpunk type dude, a guy on a hoverboard holding a gun, or... I was wondering if I made an animation with him swinging a sword as an attack, could I use it in world edit? Or am I stuck with him using a gun? Please post replies here, or e-mail me at [email protected] ---Toren:abomHUH?: |

As far as I know, WE will display any animations that a unit possesses. I don't *think* that the displayable animations are hardcoded. In-game, on the other hand, wc3 looks for animations with specific names in specific circumstances ("stand" when not acting, or "attack" when attacking, for example). I *think* you can use triggers to display any animation that a unit posesses, regardless of its name, but if you make your own animations, you ought to use the wc3 naming conventions, unless you have a really compelling reason not to. |

Give the animations tags. So for his gun moves add Gun at the end of all animation names. For his sword animations add Sword at the end of each animation. Then you can use triggers and the object editor to assign animation tags for the object that use the model. |

Is there anywhere I can get more detailed help on this? Because I just started modding, and what you guys said, while helpful, just confused the hell outta me... sorry. Like how would I save an animation as somethine WE can read would be nice. "A Comprehensive Guide on Importing Animations into World Editor" would be even nicer, lol. |
