A Trigger Spell Idea

Now I haven't thought this through completely, nor do I know the timing of the effects, but what I think would be really cool for an ultimate would be this:

When you cast it, the night grows dark, and plays a thunder noise, all units within X amount of range are targetted by lightning at unset intervals up to 5 times, on the 5th time, the unit will have it's mana drained by a certain amount, and then the unit is crippled (less damage). The curse will last a small amount of time (no more than 5 seconds) then a special effect or glowing or something is played on the unit, and the unit will be confused, attacking it's own units, or allied. Then after everything is worn off, the time of day will reset as if nothing happened.

I would title this spell "God's Fun" or something relating to vengeance, as if the god was let down by the victims and they are being targetted outta of vengeance.

I could go and try to script this, it just kind of came to me suddenly without really thinking it over too well. Give me some feedback.

Yea you could use the spell Monsoon or change time of day (item spell) as the bases for it.:foot:

If it was for multiplayer, watch out for lag.

Cool idea. In my Advance Melee maps theres an ability like this but it brings on daylight, lightens everything, and damages all undead with holy-light style effects (but much greater and grander). Its an ultimate for my Night Elf hero, the Warden of Death.

I didn't use Monsoon for the darknening effect, but I did set the time of day temporarily to midnight night. I saved the current time in a Variable so that the correct time would be reverted to afterwards, and then played the 'night wolf' sound a bunch during the duration of the spell (Wasn't lightning based though). Of course, the spell I made was specifically based around it being night, if you just want dark, that's another matter.
