reviving old threads...

ressurected threads are getting really annoying, i think we can all agree on that...

cant there be a way to make threads automaticly lock themselves down after some amount of time? a month or so? I think that would be a good idea, what do you think?

I think yes if, the threads content is out dated.

RoC beta threads for instance should be locked...

Those sorts of things.

I agree, and that is what they are doing I think. All those old (even new) threads that don't relate to wc3, stupid flames, idiocy, etc, I think they are in a "pruning" (to quote dorelian) process. As for the REALLY old stuff, like the roc beta stuff, I think they are too buried to ever see light again.....

although i think that a system that atomaticly locks down threads that are old, and deleted some time after that perhaps, that would eliminate thread revival all together...

Don't delete them, but I'd say after about 2 months they're automatically locked. Sometimes it's fun to go through old threads and see how crappy the "good" models where bakc when RoC was released, or (something i do) so into the map delevopment and get some info on pre-beta/early beta spells. That sort of stuff.

But yes, I'd say lock threads after ~ 2 months.

this must be after time with no replies, not time since thread was started, but yes

the threads shouldnt be deleted imo. they should just be closed after inactivity for about 2-3 months or so ...

thats exactly what i mean, though they might be deleted after a while by the staff anyways, like they recently did with a lot of the old threads

I concur wholeheartedly, if they want to add anything new to a skin, just start a new thread.

exctly, but if the skin is a few months old, chances are they wont be adding anything...

They shouldn't delete ANYTHING unless maybe int he offtopic forum. They've never deleted anythign in the skinning, modeling, mapmaking, ect. And they should keep it that way.
