With the new points system in, and meant for fun, I'd like to hear some suggestions on clever or fun ways that people can use them. Some of the following ideas have already been suggested in the IRC Channel: Point Lottery System -------------------------- Tentatively, it would go something like this: 1 play on the lottery would cost 10 points, and that play buys you a set of numbers. The set of numbers would, for example, have 5 in the set, ranging from 1 to 25. There is no limit on the number of plays you can buy, and it will increase your chances of winning. Chances of winning the grand prize, which would consist of 60% of the total ticket sales, would be 1 in 3003 with the above number situation. (if 500 tickets were sold, the jackpot for the winner would be 3000 points, but in the same respect, there'd only be a 1 in 6 chance that anybody wins it. Although, if no one wins the jackpot, it would we carried over to next week ;) ) 4 out of 5 numbers would win you a split prize among all the 4/5 winners, from a jackpot that is 20% of the total pot. 3 out of 5 is the same thing, but the prize would be smaller due to more winners. The lottery would probably run about once a week, on a friday or saturday evening, and you can claim your points directly after. Online Games ------------------ You could play games with your points, like an arcade. You might pay, say, 5 points to play a game of tetris, or something of the like. If you have any other suggestions that might prove useful, please express them here. We might as well make the most of this new, interesting system. |

The pretty obvious one: Contests --------------------- Winning a contest should give you a fair boost in points. Harder contests (eg. more competition) should give more points. |

Is this about using points or earning them? however what about special Icons like the blizzard ones in battle net to use. At least special Message Icons that you could use after buying them |

I also noted that we need more warcraft 3 campaigns related stuff, like with X points you can post a screenshot in the main page, or sponsor your map. I also think that Avatar Change should cost 5 points and the title change 50 |

maybe the ability to upgrade your acount and every day you get 1 piont. along with the traditional methods. it would cost alot of pionts but like i said you got 1 piont every day |

There are already 4 things you can do to your user name: Add a glow, Change its font color, make it italicized and change your actual name(which is the one you were requesting i believe). Take a look at my name. |

Could you maybe add a thing that shows a preview of your name with the color you choose before you confirm it? Sometimes colors look good on one thing but once then get on your name with the gray background they don't look as good. A preview option would kickass. |
