I've been thinking over this idea for a while with different ideas flying about my hollw skull but tell what you reckon about this (for an rpg) It's set in a futuristic world where magic still exists, but guns are also common place. Most are without magic entirely and there are some with small and some with huge talent. There are also demons, not the sort most ppl are thinking about at the moment but stuff like Vampires, Werewolves, Changeling etc etc. You can play a talented sorcerer ie high magic low everything else) You can play a gunslinging character You can play a crappy sorcerer (bit of both) Anyway any feedback and stuff is appreciated Being fair i dont yet know if this is for wc3 or another game... |

errr.... I dont know, I still dont like the futuristic/magic idea.... but i mean, who knows..... maybe it can be great, you should try it. Are you gona use custom tilesets? |

yeah - itll be a sorta really bleak futurisitic sorta thing - loadsa trenchcoats, punks and the like so definitely new tilesets cos itll be large skyscraper city kind of idea. Whats there not to like about silver bullets :D |

Sounds like a good idea, lot like arcanum . I think it would work well for NWN warcraft hasn't been made for that kind of depth. |

You've never heard of Xeno gears? :bgrun: It's possibly the best RPG there is. Another Futuristic magic is Xenosaga. |

Ive been trying to think up a good story-line for a futuristic magic scenario, but hav failed to come up with one. I kinda hav one (see looking for team for campign thread in the regular campaign discussions) but everyone thinks my ideas are lame:( ur idea sounds pretty intriguing, so i applaud u:D also, hav u ever played Legend of Dragoon? that was an awesome game and it combined both magic and machinery (kinda) |

But to comment on your original idea, sounds good. You could add a few more classes besides a caster/shooter. But other than that, go for it. And if you want to make it on wc3.. You will need lots of custom models/skins |

nah - ive nvr heard of legend of dragoon or if i did i've forgotten about it. The problem is custom models which i can do myself but there would be loads... also i doubt i'd do it in warcraft cos in retrospect it'd cause too many problems. I was considering morrowind or NWN tho but im keeping options open. And yeah bolt there are more classes i just gave a general overview. I kinda got the badguy sorted out but nothing else really cos im trying to move away from the cliched story lines we find everywhere nowadays. IE: omg that guy killed ur brother that evil guy IS ur brother u try turn him to good u cant u kill him u know the kind im talking about tho |

In my opinion, legend of dragoon, rulez. It even competes with FF7 (which also rulez):D Oh yeah, if u need any help with terraining, triggers, or cinematics, then see me:D |

it probly wont be wc3 because: 1) The engine is a bit weak 2) I'd like it to be a first person/third person roleplay ie choosable element 3) It'd be harder in wc3 than other engines so if u can do anything in morrowind or NWN then sure u can and ur help would be apprectiated cos it'd be a BIG project |
