Yeah, I was making Vexorian HA special Ability and noted that computer players don't even use any ability based from channel, so I suggest you to avoid using it if you want Intelligent Computer Players in your map, If you already used it, do the thing I did I made certain triggers with certain events that issue a computer controlled hero the order channel like a Unit is damaged event that casts the channel ability when the unit is weak (like less than 50 % of its hitpoints) (Considering that the ability was a healing like one) |

What exactly does channel do? |

A lot of things, you can edit it to do everything but it doesn't perform damage / has any real effect, that spell was kinda made to be a dummy spell, too bad blizzard didn't add an ai for it |

I'm pretty sure that the AI is at least intrinsically capable of using channeling abilities. I've certainly seen enemies use death and decay, blizzard, starfall, etc in maps, all of which are channeled abilities. Perhaps the issue is something else. Have you made sure that the ability you've created -uses less mana than the max for that unit? -doesn't require a level greater than 1 if it's a unit ability? -doesn't require an upgrade (or if it's not neutral hostile, already has the required upgrade)? -isn't using the same base ability as one that the unit already has? -uses the order that you assigned it in the trigger? Those are common problems with abilities that I've encountered both personally and on the board. If it's not one of those, why not provide a little more detail. I think this problem can be solved. |

Oooooh. Sorry. My misunderstanding. However, if memory serves me right, that is the ability that the nagas use in the second-to-last night elf mission in TFT (this is the one where you have to kill the 4 summoners who are ethereal). On that mission, you could use a faerie dragon to take down the summoners, and I am guessing that this is because they were using the channeling ability(which is otherwise a dummy ability with little use, if I recall correctly). The comp is using the ability here, though I suspect it's scripted. Still, it might help you to open up the map and see what triggers are making that whole thing "tick" |
