Cinematic: Cult of the Damned

This is a cinematic that I (Zurg) started this spring and just finished after months of hard work. It is a 27 min long, 2 map, single-player, cinematic series. I am releasing the first two acts out of five total, which will be completed sometime next year. Act One and Two begin the story of a outcast in Atraymath, the largest city in northern Lordaeron and capital of the religion of the Holy Light. When a wizard arives from a distant land and offers him the hope of a new life, he gains hope and finds the conflict between the new life which the wizard offers and the old life and his familly that he wishes to return to.
CotD features voice acting, high quality terrain and an emotional power unmatched by other cinematics. It is a drama; there is no hardcore action but it is still exciting nevertheless.

A few credits:
KaiCM for his excellent voice acting.
Maglok for his excellent voice acting.
MechWarrior, Iron_Ian, and Whip_Boy for their support.

So download it and check it out:

Act One: 15 mb, 12 min

Act Two: 18 mb, 15 min

feedback is appreciated. ;)

Just finished it. It was good, but I honestly think that the Wc3 engine just isn't fit for entertaining drama. The idea of a drama for Warcraft 3 was... well ingenius. Some of the ways you expressed emotion were ingenius as well. There was nothing you did wrong, I just think that the Warcraft III engine is not a good place for drama.

You have what it takes to make an epic drama. I'm just sorry that Warcraft III does not.

Indeed terrain and the voice acting were good. I enjoyed watching the terrain and hearing the story, but sometiems it began to trigger my ADD and caused me to faze out for a little.

I liked this cinematic very much, unfortunately, i felt some of the sounds (Horses hooves, Some voices) were out of place for there timing and subtitle postion.

It felt somewhat laggy at parts, Some scenes were overplayed a bit and i felt it didn't get as far into the story as it could of, yet still, a masterpiece.

Review:

Terrain: Well lemme see...

****ing cool city
****ing cool mountains
****ing cool country

That just about sums that up!
10/10

Music:
Very nice choice of music. Edgen does some nice stuff and you used it very well. Truth in Soul was a great song choice for the field of life.
10/10

Sound:
I liked the voice acting very much. Though some of your dialogue/timing was off a bit. You had good ambient sounds, but the horse footsteps were a bit :bgrun:
Also Stephen's wife should have had voice acting.
9/10

Story:
It was extremely good, pretty dramatic dialogue, and you got a few Shakespearian sounding lines in there too :ggani:. However I'm going to take off one point for using the existing Warcraft world rather then creating your own.
9/10

Cameras:
Your camera angles were good, and they were very smooth. However there was alot of clipping especially in Act 1.
8.5/10

Execution:
The lag really really hurts this score. Even with my new Geforce 128 mb TI 4200, it lagged almost as bad as in the beta. Otherwise everything was very solid.
7/10

Overall: 55.5/60
or
92.5%
