ive been seeing alotta hype about a fps modd for wc3 that is in the works, and lots of individuals asking questions about how to get a fps view or similar. my question is.......why?
it seems to me that it would be easier to make a mod for a real fps game (ie. quake 3, the half life engine, something else).
i mean no offense to the people working on fps mod/map projects for wc3....but i just dont see the point.

Well you see, maybe YOU don't see the point. But it's a challenge. How many people make mods for those other games? Quite a bit, but the thing is, they don't change what it is meant to be. If it's quake, they just make shooting games. But with Warcraft 3, its an RTS and they are making it into an FPS. It's stepping over the boundaries.

Exactly. It's a challenge, it's something new... besides, why not? I'm not sure, but I've heard that there was a mod for Half-life which made it an RTS... so if HL has an RTS mod, why can't WC3 have a FPS mod?

I keep hearing about this Mount Everest... People climb up it all the time... Why? It seems like it would be much easier to go around....

Don't worry AnArKi, I'm just joshin'

going around the mountain would be the easy path, but climbing the peak would make things move.
