Do you think the points system will be successful?

Plasma[Blade]	Do you think it'll actually work? Or do you think that after massive spammers, they'll just go back to the good ol' posts system? I think that eventually, it'll revert back to the posts system, mostly because idiots and spammers will constantly spam just so they can change other user's titles and stuff like that. Maybe if Moderators could delete points from abusers, though... What do you think?

JaNa	I think it will be very successful, that is, if they don't let people spam useless stuff, or posting one thing like--- WTF was.... (New post) That suppose to mean :P you get the idea.

Dorelian	It WILL be succesfull, dont worry about spamming, if someone does it, they will get banned soon after. thebestofdabest allready got banned for refreshing his thread for 20 mins to gain points :P [your views to your own thread wont count anymore though]

JollyOven	Its still not perfect. I could theorectically create a new account, post a thread, run a recursive wget on it from a diff account, get a few thougsand points in a few minutes, and do stuff. Not that I would, as I'm not interested in any of the things that can be bought, but its entirly possible.

Antoher thing is the fact that if you have no point, you can't post --what if I have 700 points & I buy an avatar? Your point system encourages it like crazy, especially for people like me who really wanted to change thier avatar or title or whatnot... What about people who forget to attach pictures in one of their posts? What if I decide to post in a bunch of different topics saying nothing but "wow" and then delete my posts? And since there are all these other things that are now being charged for, why not charge for every smiley? Every post with color? Every post with bold/italics?

It's a good idea, but it has too many flaws and too much stuff that relies on/can be done by other people. I can see it working of it relied only on your posts and people's niews of your threads, and if the stuff you did only effected yourself--for example, 50 points get you a title, 10 an avatar, 100 italic name, 250 colored name, 500 glowing name, ect, but without the expense of losing those points. I'm sorry, but imo, the new system doesn't/won't work at all.

Also, why should I have to post 200 times/ get a shitload of views just so I can change my avatar or spy on someone?(Yes I saw it, why the hell are you guys selling that anyways?)

I personally don't really care that much but my post count has already been removed so whats done is done. I think you are all getting a little to worked up on this, I mean its for fun and if people wont help you unless you pay them then they are assholes in the first place and you can tell them to go to hell. Your all looking at the negative side of things now. I mean with this system where people want to have contests you can give some points as parts of the prize and maybe even have people donate to a pool for prize points. I for one would rather have that then a fugly sig made by someone who I myself could make a better one in photoshop with. It also lets us punish spammers with the ability to "rate" their post with a dissaproval so they will actually lose points instead of getting them when spamming. If someone helps you now with a problem you have been having you can now approve of their post and give them a point as a sort of "thanks." There is no need to leave the site over all of this.

Note: Yes this was posted in the map development section to as a reply but I think people need to read it to see the good side of this system even if a little.

The thread I made, Specificly for Map Development regarding this (look in that thread for reason WHY it was there) was just locked by Draco.

What pisses me off the most, is that he didn't even leave a comment of any sort! Just locked it and thinks it's over with it.

That is abusement of power, and I won't stand for it. Fix this point system (lots of suggestions in the post) or you won't see me back. I also know lots others will leave.

This is a statement, and a request in one.

EDIT: Draco told me it was a lock and copy kinda thing, so there is a copy in off topic. BUT, that isn't where it should be, I provided a just reason WHY it shouldn't be moved...copied..whatever.

StonedStoopid	We already have 20 threads all over the place about this points system, there is no reason you should be creating a new one, especially in a forum called MAP DEVELOPMENT.
